Indian Rocks Beach doesn't have a famous boardwalk or a landmark resort — and that's exactly why people love it. It's a narrow, residential barrier island where Gulf access points appear every block or two, the dining is low-key and unpretentious, and the pace of things feels closer to old Florida than anywhere else on the coast.
Gulf Boulevard is the spine of the island — easy to cruise, easy to park along, with beach walkovers on the Gulf side and Intracoastal views on the other. The central area around the Rec Center and the town pier has a handful of good restaurants and a community beach that the residents actually use.
